ISO 22000 Internal Auditor Training – Course Aim
ISO 22000 Internal Auditor Training provides delegates with the skills and knowledge to perform an internal (first-party) audit of a food safety management system against the requirements of ISO 22000 — and to help prepare the organisation for external certification. The course covers the requirements of ISO 22000, the process approach, and auditing principles; delegates learn how to plan and conduct an internal audit and report on the findings.
Delivered through EAS, IAS's sister organisation, the course is interactive, with plenty of opportunities for delegates to ask questions and share experiences.
Why Take ISO 22000 Internal Auditor Training?
Organizations that implement ISO 22000 benefit from improved food safety, reduced food waste, and greater customer satisfaction — and an effective internal audit program is essential to ensure the food safety management system functions properly. Internal auditors provide independent assurance that the system works as intended and that any non-conformities are identified and corrected; this training equips delegates to perform that role.
Course Content
The curriculum combines ISO 22000 requirements with the internal-audit discipline of ISO 19011:
- The structure of ISO 22000 and the FSMS framework, with the process approach and PDCA at two levels.
- Context, interested parties, and the FSMS scope (Clause 4).
- Leadership and the food safety policy (Clause 5).
- Planning — risks and opportunities and FSMS objectives (Clause 6).
- Support and Operation — prerequisite programmes (PRPs), the hazard analysis and HACCP plan, CCPs and operational PRPs, traceability, and emergency preparedness (Clauses 7–8).
- The HACCP principles and hazard analysis.
- Performance evaluation and Improvement — monitoring, internal audit, nonconformity and corrective action (Clauses 9–10).
- The internal audit process per ISO 19011 — planning, conducting, evidence, nonconformities, reporting, and follow-up.
