SA 8000 Internal Auditor Training

Course Objective

The SA 8000 Internal Auditor Training course helps delegates understand the requirements of SA 8000 and the importance of social accountability management in the workplace, and gives them the knowledge and skills to conduct internal (first-party) audits and implement socially acceptable practices within their own organisation. Delivered through EAS, IAS's sister organisation, the course leads to a course-completion certificate.

• Introduction to social accountability management.
• Overview of SA 8000 and its core elements: child labour; forced or compulsory labour; health and safety; freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining; discrimination; disciplinary practices; working hours; remuneration; and the management system.
• Auditing the SA 8000 management system and its supporting records.
• Auditing guidelines (ISO 19011) — audit definitions, types, and concepts.
• Audit report and checklist preparation, follow-up procedures, and the roles and responsibilities of an internal auditor.
