About ISO 45001 Internal Auditor Training
ISO 45001 Internal Auditor Training provides the knowledge and skills to perform an internal (first-party) audit against the ISO 45001 occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system standard. The course gives delegates the confidence to report on the effective implementation and maintenance of the management system and helps prepare the organisation for an external OH&S audit, with auditing methodologies in accordance with ISO 19011.
IAS delivers this course in association with its sister organisation EAS (Empowering Assurance Systems). Tutors are practising auditors who guide you with practical examples for a better understanding of the standard's requirements and the auditing process.
Course Content
The curriculum combines ISO 45001:2018 requirements with the internal-audit discipline of ISO 19011:
- Overview of ISO 45001:2018 and the OH&S management system (Clauses 4–10).
- Worker consultation and participation, and the context of the organization (Clauses 4–5).
- Hazard identification, assessment of OH&S risks and opportunities, and legal and other requirements (Clause 6).
- Operational planning and control, management of change, and emergency preparedness and response (Clause 8).
- Performance evaluation, incident investigation, nonconformity and corrective action (Clauses 9–10).
- Audit methodologies, and identifying and reporting non-conformities.

Online self-learning is also available via the ISO 45001 Internal Auditor Course (self-learning).
Assessment & Certification
A written examination is conducted on the second day of the on-site training. The professional certificate of completion is issued based on continuous assessment during the course and the final written examination score. A participation certificate is also provided for delegates who attend the training session.
